Yoga Therapy Works Wonders for Different Ailments



Being overweight is more the norm these days than the exception. With sedentary lifestyles and poor portion control, people are consuming too much food with too many calories. Watching TV is preferred to playing with friends or socializing or spending time with the family and this has contributed to more and more people having problems with their weight and becoming obese. Also, stress and bad food habits such as irregular meal times and consuming too much junk food coupled with little or no exercise and thyroid problems have caused people to put on too much weight.

Weight Loss, Diabetes, Aches and Pains

Dieting or exercising programs that are very tedious may not always be ideally suited to shedding the excess weight and there may also be cases of skin sagging after sudden loss of weight. It thus becomes necessary to shed weight slowly and gradually and in a uniform manner. Yoga therapy and weight loss complement each other and there are different yoga therapies that result in better body weight.

Another common problem affecting many people is diabetes and yoga therapy would greatly assist in alleviating some if not all of the symptoms. An experienced yoga practitioner would be able to teach different yoga therapy techniques to aid in alleviating diabetes including kunjal or stomach wash and laghoo shankara prakshalan or washing of the intestinal tract. There are a number of important yoga positions to manage diabetes as well as breathing exercises such as alternate nostril breathing and humming breath and bellows breath and full yogic breathing that may be practiced.



Most urbanites would be familiar with the usual neck aches as well as back pains which are caused by hectic schedules and long hours of sitting in the office. Yoga therapy can rescue the patient by trying out some of the different yoga positions with deep breathing which would release stress as well alleviate aches. The different poses are locust pose, cobra pose, aeroplane pose, half wind releasing pose, wind releasing pose, roll your body left and right side in full wind releasing pose, child pose, and cat pose.

Yoga therapy has also been found to be very effective in treating many impossible and incurable diseases and problems related to sex are also handled by yoga. Some of the common problems that can be treated with yoga therapy include pre-mature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, impotence, and Gamophobia. As with other problems, yoga therapy consists of yogic postures as well as breathing techniques the use of which goes a long way in treating the different maladies. .
