The Armed Forces Retirement Home is a veteran retirement home which is considered as being the premier retirement community for America's veterans. Who is Eligible for This Veteran Retirement Home?

In regards to who is eligible for this veteran retirement home, there are some specific qualification standards, such as: veterans with 20 or more years of active duty service who are at least 60 years old, veterans who are unable to earn a livelihood due to a service-connected disability, veterans who are unable to earn a livelihood due to injuries or disease and who served in a war theater or received hostile fire pay, as well as female veterans who served prior to 1948.



As well, all applicants must be free of drug, alcohol, and psychiatric problems, and must never have been convicted of a felony. Married couples are also welcome, but both must be eligible in their own right, and at the time of admission, all applicants must be able to live independently, for example they must be able to take care of their own personal needs, attend a central dining facility for meals, as well as keep all medical appointments.
