Trauma Nursing Career Many Doors Can Open To Certified Trauma NursesMust Be Able To Provide Service Of Acceptable Levels Of Competence The trauma nursing career is open to those that can provide service of an acceptable level of competence that may require nurses to have passed and been certified in ACLS, PALS as well as having taken part and passed advanced Trauma Nursing courses. Trauma nurses are responsible for caring for patients of all ages that require emergency care. The trauma nurse should have decisiveness, be able to assess cases, as well as be able to quickly intervene and use sophisticated technology to provide vital aid to patients in order to help restore vital signs, arrest further loss of function as well as prevent complications or death. Trauma nurses will typically be stationed in emergency rooms, urgent care centers, critical care units as well as intensive care units, and should at least have active RN licensure, and need to be certified by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing in order to pursue a trauma nursing career.

To advance oneself in the trauma nursing career, it may be necessary for nurses to gain valuable experience in handling trauma cases in emergency sections of such hospitals, and nurses interested to travel this path are encouraged to develop their skills through experiencing trauma in-service in such health care facilities and hospitals. A career in trauma nursing has tremendous growth opportunities for qualified nurses competent in emergency care, and there are also many openings available in clinical research projects that employ a growing number of trauma nurses. |
