Sinus infections are said to be caused by the blockage and inflammation of the sinus cavities and the sinuses. These are hollow pockets of air located on either side of the nose, behind and in-between the eyes, and in the forehead.

Sinuses are known to produce mucus that cleans and moistens the membranes of our nose and throat and when they get infected that is where we usually feel the discomfort and pains that we experience when we have a case of sinusitis.

One of the symptoms of a sinus infection that we experience is a headache that usually occurs the moment we wake up. Aside from that, we may also feel like we are extremely tired and exhausted that it leaves us feeling weak and make us just want to stay in bed and recuperate. Aside from that, add coughing and sneezing, and this may mislead you into thinking that you are running a fever.

But then, you would also feel like your eyes are swelling and the sides of your nose are tender because the glands and the passageways are also inflamed. Once you have experience all these signs and symptoms, it is best to contact your doctor and see if he or she could recommend some instant home remedy or a prescribed medication to alleviate the symptoms of a sinus infection.
