Examples of anti-inflammatory drugs are aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, ketoprofen, and prescription drugs mainly for arthritis patients.

How Ulcers can be Treated

So how can you stop pain from stomach ulcers? One way is to properly get rid of the H. pylori bacteria. Some treatments may also be focused at lowering amounts of acid that the stomach makes, efficiently neutralizing the acid while protecting the injured area so that it can totally heal. Stopping doing other things like drinking alcohol and smoking can help heal damages of the digestive tract lining.



Triple therapy is another way to stop pain from stomach ulcers. This is a combination of bismuth subsalicylate and two other antibiotics. Likewise, other combinations are equally effective. These treatments may be used with medicines that help reduce the amounts of acid that the stomach makes.

Several medicines are also helpful ways to stop pain from stomach ulcers. Proton pump inhibitors and H2 blockers greatly reduce the amount of acid that the stomach makes. Also, they help people to start feeling better just within three days.

Antacids also help neutralize acid in the stomach. The most common medicine is called sucralfate. This help coats the ulcer and then protect it from the acid, giving it enough time to heal.

Another medicine efficient enough to stop pain from stomach ulcers is misoprotol (brand name, Cytotec). This medicine helps reduce the amount of acids and protect the stomach's linings. Also, this is used in preventing gastric ulcers in most people who are in need to take anti-inflammatory drugs.
