What Is The Right Age To Stop Breast Feeding?

This question maybe, is the most common of questions on the topic. However, there is no single answer to it yet. Experts differ in their opinions and many women tend to do as per their heart's dictates, which is, breastfeed for as long as you can'. There are theories which back this statement and theories which completely go against. You are free to choose whichever you think profits you and the baby.

How Can You Stop Breast Feeding With The Least Negative Impact On The Baby?

The answer to this is easy. You gradually wean the child and make her/him more and more dependent upon other foods. In other words, stop breast feeding very gradually. Start the weaning process when the baby completes four months by introducing boiled and mashed vegetables, vegetable juice, fruit juice, egg, etc into his/her diet and gradually stop breast feeding until you have the child having only external food.

Is It Easy To Stop Breast Feeding?

The process sound simple and very applicable. However, it is a nerve-wracking experience, with the baby wanting it and you abstaining from it while at the same time having the breasts pain infernally for release. When the baby stops feeding, the breasts get engorged with milk initially becoming extremely painful. In order to avoid this, you will have to suck out the milk and throw it. There are special pumps for this purpose. In some cases the woman's partner takes the place of the baby and starts feeding/ sucking out the milk.

Adult Breast Feeding and Lactation

When and if the partner takes over suckling the breasts, then the woman will feel both relieved and excited sexually. Ensure that the doctor gives you a green signal for sex at this time, lest resuming would be painful. The body needs sometime to get back in shape after child birth - and that period is usually three to six months. Of course, this not only varies with the built and repairing capacity of each body, but also the need and wishes to have sex.

When you decide to stop breast feeding ensure that you give sufficient and nutritious food to the baby and also have proper alternative worked out to remove milk from the breasts when it gets accumulated. You can also do what millions of other mothers do, breastfeed only at night more as ritual to put to sleep than feeding.
