Smoking And Hypnosis: Does It Really Work?

They say the average person who tries to quit smoking quits five times before they finally kick the habit. Smoking causes cancer, emphysema, as well as many other diseases and disorders. Not to mention the havoc it wreaks on our bodies over time. Yet, with all we know about smoking today, millions of people still smoke on a regular basis, some even smoking more than a pack a day. Smoking is not good for you, everyone know it, but it's so addictive that it's almost impossible to quit. You may quit for a day, or even a few hours before that urge for another cigarette becomes almost unbearable causing you to drive to the store to pick up a pack or to bum one off a stranger just so you can get a drag to hopefully curb those urges you're having. Many people have tried all the patches and gums to no avail and now more and more people are turning towards smoking and hypnosis.

A Great Way To Break The Smoking Habit

Smoking and hypnosis may not seem like they go hand in hand but, the fact is, hypnosis can be a great way to curb this nasty habit that leaves your lungs black, your teeth yellow and your clothes smelling like an ashtray. But how does smoking and hypnosis work? To find out, search your local yellow pages for a hypnotist in your area. Smoking and hypnosis have, indeed, gone hand in hand ever since hypnosis became a professional practice. By putting you in a relaxed, hypnotized, state, the hypnotist can urge you to quit smoking by speaking directly to your subconscious. The idea is that when you are confronted with smoking while awake, the urge will be gone because your subconscious will be programmed to avoid it.

For your smoking and hypnosis consultation with a certified hypnotist, the hypnotist will determine if you can indeed be helped through hypnosis. The hypnotist will then put you under using any techniques they have been certified to use. They will then program your subconscious to avoid smoking once you awaken. Does this work, however?

Hypnosis is effective because it uses the powerful human mind, your mind, to help control your body and your harmful urges. With enough sessions, you will find yourself stopping smoking for good. However, to quit smoking and for hypnosis to work, you have to believe in it whole heartedly. A person who doesn't take the hypnosis seriously will not be hypnotized. You have to go along with what the hypnotist says, without skepticism. If you doubt it will work, it won't and you'll be back to smoking in no time.

If you do believe, though, you'll stop smoking for good and you can tell your friends all about smoking and hypnosis. Who knows, you may be one of the special ones that quits on the first try. Just remember to avoid situations where you used to smoke, as in around other smokers. That's the best way to pick the habit again as it once more has a chance to take hold of you.
