Rapid Heartbeat And Sweating Connotations

Having rapid heartbeat and sweating can mean a lot of things in the medical world. There are over 50 conditions that have rapid heartbeat and sweating as combined symptoms. These conditions may affect anybody or may also be a result of several conditions or even substance abuse. Most of the other conditions that may result to rapid heartbeat and sweating may have something to do with the adrenal gland. Stress and allergic reactions also play a role in the conditions that may exhibit symptoms of accelerated heart rate and sweating. Anxiety and panic disorders are also among the many conditions that exhibit the symptoms.

Other conditions that are not as common as the ones mentioned include cancer, thyroid diseases, bacterial diseases and many others.

Substance Abuse

The use and abuse of amphetamine and other dangerous drugs can result in rapid heartbeat and sweating in individuals. Amphetamine has been credited for many cases of heart failure. The drug works in such a way that the heart rate is accelerated and strained to some point. Other substances that may also have the same rapid heartbeat and sweating symptoms are benzodiazepine, cocaine and ecstasy. These drugs along with some sedatives can trigger unwanted response in our bodies that can be dangerous to our health.

Adrenal Conditions And Anxiety Disorders

Conditions that have something to do with the adrenal glands can also trigger rapid heartbeat and sweating symptoms. This is because the adrenal gland usually causes the heart rate to accelerate and may also cause one to react to stress by breaking into sweat. Disorders of the adrenal gland may result to excessive sweating and high heart rate. Anxiety disorders, panic disorders and phobias can also result in rapid heartbeat and sweating symptoms.

Fever

Having a high fever can cause you to have rapid heartbeat and sweating. Fever is actually a sign that your body is fighting off the attacks of bacteria and other invaders. Only fever that is high grade needs to be treated immediately with medication. Low grade fever can be treated effectively with a sponge bath or short dip in lukewarm water. Keep exposure to the outside air short after the dip.

Many other conditions can result in rapid heartbeat and sweating. It is best to have a check up if the occurrence of these symptoms are frequent and without any apparent cause. Other conditions will need the immediate attention of a certified doctor for effective treatment.
