Don't Freak Out, It's Just A Pimple

It seems that pimples pop up at the most inopportune times. They pop up before big dates, job interviews, class reunions, or any other time when we're wanting to look our best. When a pimple does appear, the first reaction is usually to mess with it. We want to pop it, pick at it, or just do anything we can to it to make it go away. However, it's best to just leave it alone, because it will go away eventually. Messing with it, after all, can cause it to get worse or it could cause permanent scars. Therefore, the best thing to do is either fix it cosmetically or leave it alone, bottom line.

The Big Event

It doesn't matter what event you're preparing for, the big date, reunion, or whatever, a pimple is not the end of the world. It may seem like it's a big deal because appearance is important to many people, but there are certain things you can do to alleviate your stress when it comes to your new pimple. First of all, you can apply makeup to it. Even if you're a man and aren't really keen on wearing makeup, there are some products that are marketed for pimples that not only have medicine in them but also work to cover up blemishes. These creams are separated by shade so that you can adequately match it to your skin color. Just make sure you get the right shade because the idea is to hide the blemish, not bring attention to it. These creams will only cover the blemish and you will still have a bump where the pimple is raised, but at least it won't be red and inflamed as it looked before.

Do Not Pick At It

Never pick at or pop your pimple because you may make the problem worse. As a pimple becomes raised and forms a head, this is the oil underneath the skin blocking a pore. Popping it will release that oil, but if it is not cleaned up correctly, the oil may block more pores and you may find yourself with more blemishes. By picking at it or popping it, you also run the risk of scars forming. If you want clear skin, then, it's best to just leave the blemish alone and let it heal. It will heal, just as cuts and other sores heal. So, no matter what the occasion, don't stress out over a little pimple. Just let it heal because you'll have clear skin again in no time at all.
