Think of Making a Career Change? Consider Getting a Pilates Certification

Today's society is filled with jobs that require stressful long hours. It is no wonder, then, that many people come to the point in their lives when they want a career change. For the person who wants a job that promotes well-being for both themselves and others, a Pilates certification should be taken into consideration.

The Personal Requirements of a Pilates Certification

To earn a Pilates certification means to embark upon a career path that requires much interaction with people. For those that have a limited amount of patience when it comes to working with other people, this might not be the ideal career path, as much of the job will involve trying to help people who are struggling with pilates techniques.

Additionally, it is a good idea to have been well-versed in pilates as a hobby before embarking on getting a Pilates certification. This way, the course training process will be easier to understand, and it will be easier to relate concepts to people as an instructor.

The Pilates Mat 1 Certification

In order to get any other Pilates certifications, one must first complete the Pilates Mat 1 certification course. This certification course, once successfully completed, will enable a person to teach Pilates classes that are level 1 or level 2.

The focus of this course is a history of the Pilates method, and how different Pilates moves benefit the body in different ways. Other topics include learning the proper form of each Pilates move, how to perform the exercises for the class, the name of each Pilates exercise, and the most efficient way of performing verbal cues in regards to the exercises.

The Pilates Mat 2 Certification

This certification is for those who have successfully completed the Mat 1 certification and wish to teach more advanced classes. The goals of this course include learning how to choreograph certain pilates moves to make them harder, and tailoring certain moves for people in certain categories, such as the elderly.

What it Takes

Pilates certification courses can come in many different ways, but the shortest and often the most effective way is to take an intensive course. The price for a certification course varies, but it will cost at least in the range of several hundred dollars, but the price is worth it, because the career is promoting a healthy lifestyle.
