Ease Pain with Natural Remedy for Heartburn

Sometimes a little heartburn is going to come your way depending on your eating habits and how long it continues or how often it occurs is up to the lifestyle you lead. However, a good natural remedy for heartburn is simply drinking enough water.

Heartburn is the common symptom of Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease and is experienced when the hydrochloric acid in the stomach is regurgitated into the esophagus causing it to burn its tender lining. Some cases of heartburn can be so bad the person suffers pain similar to that of heart attack victims. Although there are a few good over-the-counter-medications on the market as well as prescription drugs, there is also a natural remedy for heartburn depending on how severe it is.

Suffering through an occasional bout of heartburn is bound to happen to just about everybody, but learning to prevent it with a natural remedy for heartburn will stave off those extremely painful periods when it does come up.

Many medications on the market do a good at what they were intended to do and that is to stop the pain of heartburn. However, they do this mostly by slowing down the secretions of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. This may stop the acid reflux being felt, but it also could cause other problems down the line, so to speak.

Food Digestion Important For Future Health

First, the acid is in the stomach as one of the steps of food digestion. A natural remedy for heartburn is to intake as much as a gallon of water a day to keep the acid diluted and to achieve a more balanced pH factor.

Another consideration in looking for natural remedy for heartburn is the fact that Helicobacter Pylori (H, pylori) is a bacterium, which grows in the stomach and cannot be killed by stomach acid. Garlic, however, will destroy it, but by swallowing, the whole clove. It needs to either be chewed or crushed before being ingested to take advantage of the allicin in garlic to an active ingredient to fight off H. pylori.

The acid in your stomach is also good for staving off food poisoning as it does kill many of the different bacteria, which causes food borne illnesses. By using a natural remedy for heartburn you keep the acid pumping into the stomach. If too much acid is present it can be diluted with water and if heartburn symptoms arise, simply drink more water to dilute if further.
