The Pitfalls of a Mobile Home Retirement Parks

For many, mobile home retirement parks are the best thing that ever happened to them. The ambiance, the open space, the grass freshly mowed, and the feeling of freedom it gives makes it an irresistible option. In many cases it is a great deal, too. However, there are instances where mobile home retirement parks have been used as cover for the worst type of scams.

You could be Walking into a Trap - Be Careful.

Homes in the mobile home retirement parks cost a small fortune. Normally, people tend to sell their permanent house, buy a caravan and live in a park. So far so good, you will say. However, if you find you have spent your lifetime's earning on a mirage - the deal may not sound so good after all.

There are reports, which say that while some mobile home retirement parks are excellent, very rarely is it that the park owner keeps his word. The park, is supposed to have some basic amenities, such as water, electricity, security, and a gardener. Many times these are not available in the mobile home retirement parks, or provided only at cost. Being in a mobile home retirement parks actually meant - in the minds of most of the people - an all-inclusive package.

After they spent their lifetime savings, sold their house and became permanent settlers on one or other mobile home retirement parks, they realize that everything is not really as hunky-dory as it looks from afar. The saddest part is that the victims are most often old people, who have no means of livelihood and cannot fight the legal battle to ensure that justice is done to them.

Take Measures Not to Get Cheated

In case you are among those who love mobile home retirement parks and plan eagerly to retire and buy in one, a word of caution. Things will not be as safe as it seems. Find out what are amenities will be provided. Be careful, to read the contract/ sale deed thoroughly. Real estate will always appreciate - while the caravan will depreciate. This is a very big investment; hence, it would be very important that you are positive that whatever you buying is worth the trouble.

Leaving the above pitfalls, investment for a caravan is very high. If you are among those older people who think the world about mobile home retirement parks - think again. Not all that glitters is gold!
