Menopause Supplements Can Ease Suffering Of Symptoms

Many doctors believe that hormone replacement therapy is the best method to help a woman deal with the symptoms of menopause, but many women understand too well the potential side effects and want no part of it. When they look for a more natural means of dealing with the many symptoms they suffer some are turning to menopause supplements made of all organic ingredients. It should be understood that since there is no way to turn back the clock on menopause supplements only alleviate the suffering it causes.

Hot flashes are perhaps the most common complaint among menopausal women and there are some herbs that can help regulate the body's thermostat. When the hormone imbalance associated with menopause causes the heater to work overtime, black cohosh and red clover are known to lower the thermostat to help keep a constant internal temperature. It is found in many menopause supplements along with other ingredients to help some of the other symptoms.

Insomnia is another complaint that can be helped by natural menopause supplements such as magnolia bark and date seed extracts are used to help control anxiety and to make the person feel less agitated. Many menopause supplements also contain a variety of vitamins and minerals to help ease the suffering of the physical and psychological effects of menopause.

One Pill Probably Won't Do It All

Most of the symptoms of menopause are blamed on an imbalance of hormones, mostly estrogen and proestrogen and some botanicals contain phytoestrogens that are claimed to mimic estrogen in the woman's body. However, some women lack the needed trigger hormones that allow these menopause supplements to work their magic in their body and receive little benefit from their ingestion.

While not all menopause supplements are sold as a means of a cure-all, it is possible that some benefit can be gained from individual menopause supplements for specific indications. For example, if the worst symptom a woman suffers is insomnia taking natural sleep aids can help them regulate their internal clock, allowing them to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. If anxiety is their only problem, other substances can be used to focus the needed treatment on that one symptom.

While many of the botanicals used in menopause supplements have not been proven scientifically to provide relief of many symptoms, many who use them also utilize the entire body theory of health. They will include a good diet and exercise program along with the use of menopause supplements to help ease their suffering.
