Even though automatic wheel chairs are becoming more affordable and insurance and Medicare can sometimes cover the costs, a person in a dire financial situation must turn to the cheapest alternative. Manual wheel chairs can often be obtained for free from various charitable organizations that provide wheel chairs to those who need them.

Don't be fooled into thinking that every wheel chair bound person must have a state of the art automatic wheel chair. While this technology is amazing and does allow for increased mobility, any wheel chair is still an excellent device for helping those who need them. Any chair with wheels is better than nothing at all when it comes to paralysis.
