How Bad Is Fibromyalgia Pain?

Fibromyalgia pain is something that grows on you. It starts like a simple body ache similar to that when you have flu and it develops into a monster pain that plagues you during every waking moment of your day. You will find this pain increasing if you undergo any strenuous activity - even if it is not enough to justify the body ache you feel. Side by side you would notice that you feel unusually tired all the time - when you are active and even when you do not do much.

How to Describe Fibromyalgia Pain?

Fibromyalgia pain varies from person to person. It could so terrible that you could not move a muscle, and it could be a nagging and irritating pain that would be at the back of your mind through out the day. There are many types of pain classified by the way it feels and where it is located.

You have muscle pain which is a major symptom of fibromyalgia. This pain could be deep or these could be throbbing pains like you would feel after you just hit yourself. Sometimes the muscles feel like they are on fire and sometimes they just would tingle. All these symptoms cause acute discomfort and would interfere heavily with your day-to-day chores.

Fibromyalgia pain is also manifested through a dull all ache all over the body - very similar to the pain induced by flu. You would feel like you have been hit by a truck with every bone, muscle and inch of your skin paining. However, this is not all.

One of the characteristics of fibromyalgia pain and a major aid for the diagnosis of this ailment is a peculiar localized pain. This pain would be very acute and found at about 10 to 20 different spots on the body. These would be tender when left alone and extremely painful when touched.

Other Symptoms That Characterize Fibromyalgia

Pain is only one side of this disease; side by side there would be feeling of extreme fatigue, inability to concentrate, inability to perform mental activities, anxiety attacks, inability to sleep, acute restlessness and so on. Depression is a common side effect of this ailment which often results from the feeling of hopelessness in fighting this ailment and lack of sleep.

There is no cure, unfortunately for this disease. However, with the right drugs and careful symptomatic treatment you would be able to control most of the pain and depression.
