Two Sides Of The Effects Of Stress On The Body

With the day to day struggles that we have to do in order to keep up with the demands of our lives, we sometimes find ourselves feeling so pressured and worn out that we barely have time to do the things that we love doing for ourselves. And as we all know, stress can greatly affect our bodies and may lead us to have fatal diseases like cancer or heart disease. And that for some people stress can also bring an increase or decrease in weight.

If you feel like you are always overworked and barely have the time to look after yourself, it is better that you know all the effects of stress on the body so that you will know when it is time to just stop and take a breather. To enumerate all the effects of stress on the body, here are some of the most common things that can happen to us due to the stresses and the pressures that we feel every day.

The Good Effects

Contrary to most beliefs that stresses can only do bad things for your body, there are also some good effects of stress on your body that may help you excel in everything that you do. From your job to your family life, in small doses, stress can make you be more focused and bring out a good balance of arousal and relaxation that can help you concentrate and achieve what you want.

Aside from that, because of the good effects of stress on the body will drive us to work more and bring out a competitive edge giving us more energy in everything that we do and achieve the kind of results that we want for our work. Actors and athletes have learned the art of converting stress into a positive energy and with just proper harnessing, stress can work to our advantage at times.

The Bad Effects

But of course, we all know that the bad effect of stress on the body can often lead to fatal diseases like heart failure and cancer. The bad stress will lead us to feeling harassed all the time, leading us to have high blood pressure and mostly confusion in everything that we do.

The effects of stress on the body can also cause psychological stresses or pressures that may lead us to have a weak immune system. And if we are not careful in everything that we do and not slow down and gather ourselves, what may happen is that illness can come our way or even much worse effects like the ones that were mentioned above.
