How Bad Are The Early Menopause Symptoms?

Come the forties, all women are up for early menopause symptoms. The good news here is that women today are prepared for it, though they are all wondering until the nth our whether these are as bad as they are painted out to be.

How Bad Are Early Menopause Symptoms?

It always depends from person to person. The fact is that the menopause manifests itself very differently - i.e. for some women it is hardly felt, while for other it is a living nightmare makes it difficult to classify it in degrees of severity. Of course, being prepared for it helps a great deal as it helps to have proper diet and medication. But before you go to medication let us have a look at what exactly would be some of the most troublesome early menopause symptoms.

You would know that menopause is knocking at the door when you experience hot flushes at all times of the night and day without any warning leaving you exhausted and very often soaked in sweat. This is one of the most dreadful of the early menopause symptoms. The hot flushes can be contained only with HRT or a diet with food rich in phytoestrogens.

There are other symptoms which are not as bad, with the exception of depression which can be very serious during this time. Depression, anxiety, restlessness, lack of appetite, etc are some of the other symptoms which herald menopause.

Unfortunately, these early menopause symptoms are not easily identified because when it occurs at a time (middle age) when there are so many other things that would more or less condone the feelings of depression - such as death of parents, children leaving home, mid-life crisis, crisis in marriage, etc.

Women also experience a sudden loss of libido which is once again owed to the fluctuation or rather reduction of estrogen in the blood. This is another early symptom though not as severe as the others. The decrease in sexual desire is also owed to the fact that the vagina becomes very dry and sexual intercourse is painful.

Other early menopause symptoms include weight gain, water retention, dry skin and pigmentation, acute mood swings, sudden cravings for food, etc. Each of these symptoms can be treated and controlled with the right medication, provided you visit the doctor in time. Therefore, as soon as you cross forty be on the look out for any such symptoms that would indicate the onset of the menopause and on reading the early signs get adequate treatment.

An early diagnosis would ease the transition without pain and suffering, for which it is very important that you know what are the early symptoms of this inevitable phase in your life.
