The Cost of Vasectomy Reversal and Other Possible AlternativesThe cost of vasectomy reversal is much higher than your original vasectomy. One of the drawbacks to this procedure though is that pregnancy rates are quite low, and the process is coupled with special manipulations of the egg and sperm. A Second Alternative Intracytomplasmic Sperm Injection is another possibility to helping restore your fertility. It involves the direct injection of one sperm into your partner's egg and is the procedure which was created to overcome the low pregnancy rates with invitro fertilization. Unfortunately, even this specialized procedure can only promise an 18% chance of your partner becoming pregnant per fertile cycle. Another problem with this procedure is that cost is also very prohibitive coming to an average of $75,000 again most likely not covered by insurance. There are no guarantees when it comes to vasectomy reversal, and you should consider all your options and discover if the procedure will have a good chance of success for you personally before you decide to take on the cost of vasectomy reversal. |
