Cellulite Affects Many WomenThere is some evidence that this condition is affected by hormones and is not the result of obesity. Although there is evidence that hormones contribute to the appearance of this condition, there is no hormone treatment to cure it. Thin people can have cellulite like their overweight friends. This problem is mostly in appearance and is not the sign of a medical problem. Cellulite shows on the buttocks, the thighs and hips. This problem is one of degree. Some woman have more than others, and the appearance is more noticeable on some women. In normal, daily living, this problem is not as serious as it becomes when a woman wants to wear shorts or a swimming suit at the beach. The Appearance of Cellulite Can Be Minimized As noted previously, cottage cheese skin affects many women, and it is very annoying to most women affected. There is a quest to find a way to eliminate cellulite. Some women annoyed by this condition have turned to liposuction. This is a surgical procedure that should be performed by an experienced doctor. The doctor uses equipment and skills to suck the fat from beneath the skin. This procedure can be extremely expensive and somewhat time consuming. There is evidence that liposuction actually worsens the appearance of the orange peel skin. Exercise that results in weight loss can improve the appearance of the areas affected by this condition. Massage therapists offer treatments to women bothered by the ugly appearance of their skin. These massage treatments specifically target the areas affected. Several cosmetics companies offer products, and the advertisements for these products claim to reduce the unattractive appearance of cottage cheese skin. There is not much evidence available that shows these products make a significant difference although some individuals believe that the products work. Some health professionals recommend a low fat diet to reduce the appearance of cellulite. |
