Finding A Good Breast Feeding Bra

When you become pregnant, there are so many things to worry about every day that sometimes it can be difficult to thing more long term. However, one thing you will need to decide is whether you are planning on breast feeding or bottle feeding with formula. If you do decide to breast feed, you will want to find a decent breast feeding bra or three.

Tips About Breast Feeding Bras

A breast feeding bra can be immensely helpful when you are trying to breast feed. When it is 2 am and the baby needs to be fed, the easier the access, the faster, the better. Breast feeding bras are mostly like normal bras, but they have a flap across the front that is easily unhooked and drawn down. This allows the nipple and the area around it to be exposed for immediate breast feeding.

Breast feeding bras are usually a bit more expensive than normal bras, and can be a little more difficult to find. However, if you have a good sized department store close by, they will usually have a fairly good selection of breast feeding bras available on a regular basis. You will be a little surprised at how much larger your breasts can get when you begin to breast feed. As a result, you will probably want to try a variety of breast feeding bras on to determine which one will work best for you.

Breast feeding bras are not just for easy access during breast feeding. They also support your breasts, which can be important, especially since your breasts are going to increase in size. Breast feeding bras are also useful for keeping nursing pads against your nipples to catch any discharge. As your body becomes used to the needs of your baby, the milk production will adjust accordingly, but in the meantime, you may have some leakage.

Breast feeding is just like any other part of child rearing. If you have the right equipment, life can be a little bit easier for you. For first time mothers, the whole situation can be absolutely overwhelming, but believe it or not you should adjust after a certain point to your new situation and the changes in your body. Even after the birth, your body still isn't your own, but eventually, it will be again. In the meantime, try to enjoy the unique experience of breast feeding and find a good, well fitted breast feeding bra.
