Body Cellulite Wrap: Revealing the Facts and Fiction

Around 1980s, a product known as body cellulite wrap promised to burn fat while sleeping and lose four to six inches during the first day of use. This became the latest craze during that era, while many desperate people hoping to get rid of unsightly cellulite and extra fats jumped on the bandwagon quickly.

Body cellulite wrap, another method claiming to reduce or eliminate cellulite, are available in most health spas and salons. Unlike other anti-cellulite treatments, a body cellulite wrap does not include massages, supplements or surgical methods. Instead, body cellulite wraps use specially designed clothing combined with topical anti-cellulite products to be applied onto the skin.

Just like other unproven methods of cellulite elimination, body cellulite wrapping claims to remove several inches from the hips, thighs, waist and other fatty areas of the body. These anti-cellulite products are usually advertised as a quick fix to lose inches from the desired fatty areas since they could melt away fat within an hour of use.

The theory behind body cellulite wraps is that cellulite is waterlogged fatty tissues, making it possible for the piece of clothing to burn and melt these fats away easily. While many people fall for products that promise smooth skin and weight loss even when sleeping and without doing anything, these body cellulite wraps have no scientific proof to back up its claims.

How Does A Body Cellulite Wrap Work?

You can purchase a body cellulite wrap made of rubber or plastic. Regardless of material, these body wraps are worn around the hips, thighs or waist and others can be worn throughout the entire body.

Body cellulite wraps can be worn during daily activities, while sleeping or while exercising. Some body wraps are inflated with air by a vacuum cleaner, while others uses hair dryers to blow warm air into the wrap. Other body wraps are combined using creams, lotions or gels after the wraps are soaked into a solution.

However, regardless of materials made or whether it used topical treatments, manufacturers of body cellulite wraps claim that their products can reduce one's body dimensions by removing unnecessary fluids. Although this method does achieve losing inches to the desired areas, the weight loss reduction is temporary and can easily be replaced by food or drinks.

You should be aware that hasty and excessive loss of fluid could be dangerous because it could cause imbalances of electrolytes in the body or case extreme dehydration. Therefore, if you want to try body cellulite wrapping, it is recommended that you search for a reputable health spa to guarantee they can assist you when potential hazards arise.
