The Promotion of Nutritional Supplements on Atkins Diets

Virtually every form of a weight loss plan restricts some type of food and can lead experts to wonder if these plans are nutritionally effective. Every group of food has benefits if used in the correct proportions and taking one of these groups out of your diet can reduce the nutrients that your body needs as well. As with most diets, Atkins diets promote the use of dietary supplements when participating in the program, especially during the first few weeks when fruits, most vegetables and carbohydrates are avoided. Since it is advisable for nutritional reasons to consume fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, supplements can be necessary when on an Atkins diet.

One of the major criticisms of the Atkins diet is the fact that there are not enough fruits and vegetables allowed in the early stages, and it is assumed that the long-term effects would be negative. However, fruits and vegetables are added to the diet and Dr. Atkins himself advised the use of nutritional supplements when embarking on an Atkins Diet. This silenced some critics, but it is still advisable to consult with a professional before beginning this diet, particularly if you have an illness that could be exacerbated by certain ingredients in these supplements. It is imperative that a dieter maintains a safe and healthy lifestyle while on an Atkins diet and supplements could perhaps increase the benefits of the diet.

Atkins Endorsed Diet Supplements

There are a number of dietary supplements that are endorsed and intended for use alongside the Atkins diet. These supplements are specially designed to aid a low carb diet such as Atkins. Among the choices are Atkins Accel capsule supplements, which can be used with an Atkins diet or even alone. It contains amino acids and botanical extracts which aid fat metabolism. It is said to be perfect for those who require a kick start when their weight loss slows or levels out after a dieting phase. They are not intended for long-term use, but are instead a short-term solution that must be taken an hour before each meal.

These supplements can be useful when on an Atkins Diet as they contain a variety of ingredients, including Vitamin B3 which assists the digestive system and encourages metabolic activities in the body. It contains all of the important antioxidants which rid the body of toxins, and also includes stimulants intended to encourage the digestive system into action and speed up the heart. The supplements are packaged in a 15-day supply, and promote an extra amount of weight loss that does not generally continue once the use of these supplements has been discontinued. Other popular supplements to this diet include specifically designed shakes and snacks.
